I have been blown by the wind lately and I have been brought to Manaoag with friends on National Heroes Day.
Millions of pilgrims pass below this rose dome to offer their heartfelt petitions to Our Lady of Manaoag. Her intercession is sought by the sick, helpless and needy.
This year s trek was necessitated by a friend taking the bar examinations and another friend receiving chemotherapy. It was made all the more special because the Basilica houses a Holy Door where special indulgences are granted as part of the Jubilee Year of Mercy.
As we ended mass and gathered under the dome and close to the altar to receive the final blessing and prayed for the sick, I felt this Shrine was a frame for all our prayers and a square for our faith.
